Retail Therapy in the Sunshine.

Haha! All that talk of autumn in my last post has prompted a mini-heatwave here in the UK....so this will be a quick post as I would like to enjoy the sunshine while its here....

I visited the Shepton Mallet Antiques Fair on Friday, so thought I would just show a few of my favourite stands that where there....a wonderful dovecote village, each one handmade from salvage, looked really impressive en masse.
**
Liz's tempting array of goodies are always eye catching.

**

Jane's haberdashery and textiles just in from France.....
**
And Ken and Jonathan's impeccably coordinated stand with chalky painted cupboards and lampshades and cushions made from antique French fabrics.
**
One of my favourite purchases from the trip was this flower painting book dated 1907. I love the illustrations inside, which are a guide for the amateur to copy.

Hope the sun is shining wherever you are today.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Niki x

  2. What a feast !!
I would just love one of those dovecotes but would worry that our cat would see it as a present for him!
I recognised Jane's textiles from the Assembly Rooms fair though I didn't know it was Jane... Eventually I will be able to put faces to names.. or vice versa!
Enjoy these golden days in the sun Niki.. they are so precious!

  7. Hi Niki. I finally got to a Shepton Fair on Saturday and saw all that you posted about. It was a wonderful day and was much enhanced by the sunshine. I bought some great bits from Jane (just back from France and just about to go off again) but regretted not getting something from her. She was not there on the Sunday as I asked Amanda to pop over and see her and purchase it for me. She had gone to Malvern for the one day Flea. Amanda thought you might know how to get in touch with her. If you do please could you let me know otherwise I shall just have to wait until the October Flea and hope she still has it!!
