Mrs. Sergison DID get to make those garlands! ;-))
(Such a shame so much footage ends up on the cutting room floor...)

Hope you enjoyed the pictures that I captured during the filming of the Edwardian era over the summer.
(Hope you enjoyed this evenings programme too, of course! ;-))

  1. Is that Dave trying the Boar's head? Great pix Niki. I enjoyed the programme last night, but would have been nice to see more of the wedding scene...

  2. I love the programme Niki, however in my book you're the star. Why? Because after the series finishes you'll still be there promoting all that's good about small businesses and keeping town centres thriving.

  3. The girls in this family are really enjoying the series so far. I got very emotional during the call-up papers arriving. My own son is just 18 and would have gone. It's almost unbelievable that people went through this. xx

  4. Hi Lizzie,
Yes that is Dave, but he's trying the calves foot jelly! Yuck!
I agree, I would have liked to have seen more of the wedding breakfast - it seemed rushed at the end. There was a beautiful wedding cake which wasn't shown.

  7. Hi Jill,
Thank you for your comment. I was filmed a few times. I was a customer at the Victorian Market (buying cheese from Mr. Sergison) and also I tried some of the food at the Edwardian wedding breakfast. Most of the time I had to work in my own shop though! I was filmed for the final episode (1970's) inside my shop, when I was asked what effect having the filming had, had on my business, if any. I was also invited to the final party on camera. I have now seen how so much of the footage has been cut and edited, so I would be very surprised if any of this was used in the last programme!

    Glad you are enjoying it,
    Niki

  8. Hi Niki

I spotted your girl - dressed in my lace bodice!

It would have been nice to see more of our things in the dressmaker's shop though, wouldn't it!

Really enjoying this, was goong to ask if you appear in it at all, but you have answered in an earlier reply. Your shop seems to be well placed and in a lot of the shots.

  10. Wow, how long did it take to upload all those photos Niki! Wasn't it funny watching poor Michael (i think) trying to ice that boar's head! I shall be looking out for you in future episodes!
