I've been sorting through my old shop's stock, my workroom and all my supplies, as well as cabinets and cupboards in our home - I have a mountain of stuff to bring to the fair, with prices from 50p, up to £20.00 for small furniture items - ie: something for everyone! Photos to follow in a few days...

Daisy Days...

April has been a wonderful month for sunshine...
This week I painted wood preserver onto our garden benches...
Then turned my attention to the metal chairs...
With the sun bleaching my photos, these chairs don't look too bad, but they were actually quite rusty in places...

Using this...
Does what it says on the tin(!), it was a fairly quick job...

And they were all soon back in their shady spot under the decking.

Next it was the turn of an old Lloyd Loom chair which needed a new cover for its sprung seat.
(Seen in the back ground is a dining chair that I also re-covered - This one will be coming with me to the vintage jumble sale next month - details on my sidebar.)

I wanted the Lloyd Loom chair to match in with the others that we use in the summer house and garden. Most have a nod to a vintage Sanderson in one way or another...

I decided on this fabric - Yes a Sanderson, but actually only from 1993 - I feel sure it's a reprint of one of their 40's designs going by the style and colours - It's called 'Daisy Days'.
The seat lifts out and is on a wooden frame. It was quite straight forward to stitch the fitted fabric cover and then staple the fabric seam allowance to the frame on the underside using a staple gun.
It then just drops back into place in the chair.
Ready for summer!
Have a lovely weekend,

Still Trying...

Have a great day!

This Week...

I've started to add some of my handmade items to my on-line shop today.
If you'd like to take a look, please visit my site here.
I'll add more treasures over the next few days...
Also this week I shall be busy giving my workroom a top to bottom sort out, as next month offers the ideal opportunity to try and clear some of my unwanted supplies...
Lizzie and Clare are busy organising a new event - The Vintage Bazaar's Giant Vintage Jumble Sale, which will take place at The Cheese and Grain, Frome, on Saturday May 16th.
It should be an amazing shopping experience, with goods offered at bargain prices...
Hope you can add the date to your diary.
Have a lovely week,
Niki x

The Spring Vintage Bazaar, Frome.

Just had to check that I have enough stock to display on my stall at the Spring Vintage Bazaar, Frome on Saturday...
Yes, think there's enough there!
I've been collecting some special items for a while now and have amassed a nice variety...

Here's a closer look....

Lots of lovely vintage details...

A print of local landmark - Glastonbury Tor.

Lots more will be coming besides...
Including some handmade items that I've not shown previously on my blog....
A vintage hand worked tapestry of a cottage and garden, which I've combined with some lovely old Sanderson fabrics to make a cushion.

The back.
Another cushion with hand worked tapestry panel, this one featuring a bowl of anemones, which I've surrounded with a variety of vintage floral fabrics and unusual hand embroidery.

The back.
This is Betty Blossom, one of my special one-of-a-kind handmade fairies. I bought the c1930's embroidered fabric which I've used for her skirt, whilst in Guernsey last month.

I've been covering various little boxes in antique papers to present a variety of vintage brooches.

These ones hold handmade brooches, which I created from the ends of old wooden cotton reels, with a brooch bar on the back.

Other boxes contain collections of vintage buttons or sequins.
Always a very special fair - Hope to see you there!
